Surrogates: support and health

What support do surrogates get, and who provides it?

The short answer

At Private Label Surrogacy, your case manager has been a surrogate. Natalie Gaudio-Fricano delivered a boy for an international couple in October 2016 after a first-transfer success and was a three-time egg donor before that; Jenni Symons delivered as a surrogate in 2019 and 2021. They carry every active match. Around them, support is specific: at least six nutrition consults with Julie Bendix, MPH, RD, LD, CLC; mental health sessions with an independent licensed professional, paid by the intended parents; a 24-hour after-hours line; travel booked and paid for you; a hospital liaison before delivery; life insurance up to $750,000; housekeeping from 32 weeks; and a physician, Mark Silverberg, MD, who read your records before you were matched. Nancy Block, RN, who founded the agency, runs matching herself.

Support map table: need, who provides it at PLS, when in the journey, paid by whom.

Editor notes (B-057): Confirm the 24-hour after-hours line exists as a formal service (the brief describes an after-hours team). Confirm the caseload cap figure before stating a number. Surrogate support events are mentioned on the current site; confirm they still run.

Frequently asked questions

Who is my point of contact as a PLS surrogate?

A case manager who has been a surrogate herself: Natalie Gaudio-Fricano or Jenni Symons.

Is there after-hours support?

Yes. The team has rebooked a stranded surrogate's hotel, car and flight after hours while another surrogate was delivering twins.

Does PLS have in-house counselors or lawyers?

No, by design. Mental health, legal and escrow are independent licensed professionals so no one grading or paying you works for the agency.

Do surrogates meet other PLS surrogates?

Yes. PLS runs surrogate support events and connects surrogates with each other.
