Intended parents: matching and relationship

How does surrogate matching work?

The short answer

Surrogate matching works in five steps: the agency collects both sides' criteria (state, number of embryos to transfer, views on termination and selective reduction, vaccination, communication style, relationship after birth, openness to LGBTQ+ or international parents); it screens the surrogate completely before any introduction; it presents a profile to the parents and the parents' profile to the surrogate; the two sides meet by video with an agency member present; and both confirm in writing before the match is official. At Private Label Surrogacy, Nancy Block, RN runs matching personally, drawing on 2,500+ matches across her career, and matching averages about 6 months. The goal is agreement on the decisions that cannot be compromised later, not just rapport.
