What if my surrogate changes her mind?
The short answer
Before embryo transfer a surrogate may withdraw; after transfer the gestational carrier agreement governs, and in Illinois she has no parental rights to the child. If she withdraws before transfer, PLS rematches you at no additional agency fee for a first rematch [CONFIRM policy]. Withdrawals after matching are uncommon because screening, including the psychological evaluation, happens before matching, not after.
