Should you invite your surrogate to your baby shower?

The short answer

Yes, invite your surrogate to your baby shower if she is comfortable attending; there is no obligation either way, and the decision is hers. Private Label Surrogacy's case managers, both former surrogates, report that being included was one of the moments they valued most, and that most surrogates accept when travel is reasonable. Practical points: ask her privately before sending invitations, offer to cover travel if she lives far away, decide together how she is introduced to guests, and keep gifts for the baby, with a separate thank-you for her if you want one. A video call during the shower works when distance makes attendance impractical.

A separate thank-you is welcome; keep the shower about the baby.

Who pays for her travel to the shower?

The intended parents typically offer; it is not a contract expense.
